A juried exhibit featuring recent religious works by living Utah artists at the Springville Museum of Art. Opening reception Wednesday, October 16th from 6:30-8:30 pm.
I’m an artist who took my first trip to Europe in my 40’s. It was a spiritual experience for me to step off the train and into a Monet painting, the glass triangle ceiling looked exactly the same. He bravely painted light reflected off steam trains in his “modern” station, even when no one understood why that would be beautiful. I stood in MY modern day train station and was inspired to keep creating MY art, even if no one understands the beauty either. Art is spiritual, we make it because something stirs our soul and we create our own marks in this big world.
